The "ReDiscoverYou Initiative" Re-entry Program

VITW-CDC has been tasked to work with ex-felons as part of the Indianapolis Mayor's Re-Entry Initiative.  We hold classes for two-weeks, with a continuing Job Placement Workshop that assists the participants until adequate employment is found.

"We believe that everyone deserves another chance, be it or second or third, to prove that they can become the best that they can be," says Reverend Richard Willoughby. We have been doing this for several years, and have been successful in placing many ex-offenders into jobs.  Now we are doing it on on a much larger scale and have the personnel in place to be even more successful."

The program is divided into four distinct Phases.

  • Phase One involves evaluation, assessment and orientation.
  • Phase Two involves barrier identification and resolution, self-discovery and personal development.
  • Phase Three involves positive motivation, soft skill and employment training;
  • Phase Four involves Job Search/Placement and Job Retention Services.

Based on advertised criteria and/or recruitment efforts, interested individuals are invited to attend a bi-weekly orientation session which provides attendees with information necessary to make an informed decision regarding the best program for them.  For more information on The ReDiscoverYou Initiative, please call Sharon Jones at Voice In The Wilderness Community Development Corporation at (317)924-9711. Please leave a message if there is no answer.
